Journaling Deployment

This basic deployment method puts the Barracuda Message Archiver off to the side of the Microsoft Exchange server. The Barracuda Message Archiver captures emails marked for journaling by the Exchange server before they are delivered to users. Emails stored on the email server before installation of the Barracuda Message Archiver can be imported to the Barracuda Message Archiver using Microsoft's Message Application Protocol Interface (MAPI).

SMTP Deployment

If journaling isn't available, you can deploy the Barracuda Message Archiver with the Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall to capture external and internal emails via SMTP. The Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall's journaling feature copies messages to the Barracuda Message Archiver. To capture emails sent within the organization, administrators can use the Barracuda Message Archiver as their SMTP relay located in front of the internal email server.

Streamlined Administration

The Barracuda Message Archiver features an intuitive web UI, Microsoft Outlook add-in, and mobile applications. These features provide intuitive, cost-effective administration and access end-to-end. Administrators can define and manage archive settings and policy rules across a broad spectrum of interfaces.

Intelligent Storage Manager

The Intelligent Storage Manager provides a complete view of used and available storage. This information is helpful for deciding whether to use concatenated storage, which involves external storage drives, or mirrored storage for added redundancy.

Energize Updates

Barracuda Central, a 24X7 operations center, automatically updates the Barracuda Message Archiver's extensive library of virus definitions as well as policy definitions, updates to new document-file formats, and security updates for the Barracuda Message Archiver platform.
